Alcatel Wins UMTS Network Contract in Malaysia

Alcatel recently announced it has won a contract worth 70 million Euro to supply 3G UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) equipment to Celcom, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia. Alcatel is to provide network equipment, and help Celcom complete the construction of its 3G UMTS network, which is expected to cover the whole country.
